Lumina ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App").
Photos you upload are processed by our AI to generate your beauty analysis. We handle your photos with care (see below). Lumina allows you to submit a facial photo for AI-powered beauty analysis. - What we collect: A single facial photo that you voluntarily upload or capture within the app. We do not collect biometric identifiers, facial geometry, or Face ID data. - How it is used: Your photo is sent to Google's Gemini AI API to generate a beauty score, feature breakdown, and personalized recommendations. The photo is used solely for this purpose. - Third-party processing: Your photo is transmitted to Google's Gemini AI API over an encrypted connection. Google processes the image in real-time to return analysis results and does not retain the image after processing, in accordance with their API terms of service. - Storage: Your photo is never uploaded to or stored on our servers. A local copy is cached on your device only so you can revisit your results. This local copy never leaves your device except for the one-time transmission to the Gemini AI API described above - Retention: We retain no copy of your photo. The on-device cache persists until you delete it. You can delete all local data, including your photo, at any time by navigating to Settings > Delete All Local Data within the app. - Consent: Before any photo is submitted for analysis, you are required to review and accept our AI Data Sharing disclosure on a dedicated consent screen. No photo is transmitted until you provide explicit consent.
Lumina offers subscription plans ($3.99/week, $9.99/month, $29.99/year). All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment method details. We may receive a confirmation of your subscription status from Apple in order to provide you with premium features.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
The App may use third-party services for AI processing, analytics, cloud storage, and crash reporting. Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Uploaded photos are retained only as long as necessary to provide your analysis. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data — including uploaded photos — within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Our AI analysis examines facial features in your uploaded photos. We do not create or store biometric identifiers (such as faceprints used for identification). The analysis produces descriptive assessments of facial features, not biometric templates. We do not use facial analysis data to identify individuals.
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these jurisdictions.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
